Trip To Florida - Part two

Friday we had a wonderful, wonderful notalgic last day at the beach. It's always hard to leave on the known last day of vacation. I love the ocean....ocean massages.....& we were entertained by four pro kite surfers & another new sport. Surfers have huge surf boards & the surfer carries a long handled paddle....they kneel, then stand up, paddle to good spot to surf & ride the wave in. They can just stand on big surfboards for long periods of time, just most like standing on water!!
Love walking the beach & letting the surf splash over my feet! I truly enjoy God's beautiful creations.

It rained nearly everyday we were there, but we were determined to go
to the beach no matter what this day & stay until we got rained on our
out!!! It turned out to be a wonderful day at the beach. There were lots
of ominous clouds off to the north & the beach-store clerk said the radar
showed it was headed our way, but we weren't deterred!!! In the end
it just sort went all around us & we spent all afternoon . The water was
warm & though we were a bit leary about getting in to far because there
were red & purple flags flying that day, which meant dangerous rip tides &
sea animals. We ask what dangerous animals & the ticket lady said it
meant there were jelly fish in the water. The waves were pretty rough &
we did see one 1 & 1/2 foot jelly fish which a family group warned me
about but no one got stung. Kelly was afraid of getting stung!

I got a few good pictures of Nanny Pat's Home.

Everyday in Florida, Kelly would wake up & do things on Patty's
"To Do" list. He busied himself: * Mowing lawns, including Jim's,
(Patty's neighbor) this time since he's been sick for 2 weeks with
pneumonia like symptons. Kelly said he's trying to reciprocate for
all the times Jim has mowed Patty's lawn! Showing our thanks!....
* weed eating, *chopping out tree roots, *changed windshield wipers
on Patty's car, *put a new bulb holder on Patty's family room lamp,
*built somewhat new plant holder for Patty's plants as other was
falling apart. *fixed the storage shed door so it was more accessible,
*fixed sprinkler head etc. *& mowed the grass again!

As for Patty, it's so good to see her feeling better after the pain she
went through this past year & great to see the miracle the three pain
shots take effect. Even to the point of booking another Cruise to
Copenhagen, Switzerland, Russia etc. The only trouble she had was
getting pick-pocketed for $600, lucklily she left credit cards & driver's
license & passport back at hotel. Let this be a word of caution to all
who may travel abroad. Those pick-pocketers are ever so sly!!

One sad note of the trip was that Paco was sick & Patty said he wouldn't
eat hardly anything and just stayed pretty much on the bottom of the cage.
She took him to the vet and got some medicine for him & had to feed it
to him with an eye dropper. But he still hasn't perked up & it had been
nearly two weeks. She truly feared she might wake up & find him dead.
She did coax him to eat a bit of my left over steak but he was still feeble
when we left. Sure hope he's feeling better by now. He's always been
such a chatter box & part of the fun while we're there. Poor Paco!! I
couldn't even coax a "Shauuuunnn" out of him.

I took some shots of the back yard. This one down by the bayou was my favorite!
I think it would make a great painting!!

Patty got some bananas off this tree while we were there!

This looks wonderful to me right now that we're back home, and it makes
me want to go jump right in!!! But can you believe it was just to chilly to
be comfortable while we were there. That's why I like to go before September.
But the ocean water was great!! I can't wait til these next few hot days are
over!!

Panama City Florida - Part 1

Because it rained this day we spent the day shopping at Alvin's Island &
Checking out the new Pier Park Mall near the beach. So being this close
to Bid-Dee-Wee beach we had to at least go get our feet in the water & walk the
beach for awhile. It's good & fun exercise!

For our "fish night out" we went to eat at one of the Treasure Ship Restuarant's
on the bottom level deck, "Hook's Grill & Grog". I had Flounder, twice baked
potatoe & salad, Yum! It had rained during the day & began raining again as we
finished eating & had to run to the car in the rain!!!! Something we have
almost forgotten what it's like in Arizona.

Our Recent Trip To Georgia & Florida

I really liked driving this Pontiac rental.

Lauren came by friday morning to take us to the airport & we flew
Northwest which has now merged with Delta to Jacksonville, Florida.
Picky, picky at the check station they still made me dump lotion
& toiltries even though they were in small containers because they
didn't all fit in a sandwich size zip lock bag!! Dregs! Still haven't got
that right!
We spent the night then got up early morning & took the I-10 heading
west towards Nanny-Pats in Panama City. Kelly surprizes me & asks
if I want to go see Brittney??? which we hadn't planned this short trip
but it bugs us to be this close & not see her. So change of plans we
head north to Brittney's a four hr. drive outside of Atlanta. Kelly says
we can only spend one evening but we'll get to see them & take them
out to dinner. Soooo...of we go! It's always fun & amazing to drive down
those freeways out there with all their beautiful tall green trees & foliage.
So fun to get to spend a little time with Brittney & Chris & the grandkids!
And thanks again Chris for that fantastic send off breakfast you fixed us!
Omlets, hashbrowns, bacon, toast & jam & juice. Yum!
We do take turns driving, though Kelly takes the hard parts. And we hit alot
of rest stops. The cush seems to get thinner with age & stretching is good!!

Kelly's 1st time to hold little name-sake, cute Madolin Kelly
On the drive down to Patty's there was alot of contruction & it took
us an hour longer to arrive. We were in stop & go traffic for a whole
hour. Working on the freeways they haven't quite figured out how
to just work on a little section at a time, like we do out here. My only
complaint!
We decided to stop and try something new! The little stands along
the roadside where they sell boiled peanuts! Well..... I wasn't to
impressed with the boiled peanuts, they taste like kinda like hard
beans. Kelly liked them.... It was just more interesting interacting with the people in the
area. We bought some wonderful peaches later at another little stand!
The kind I was used to eating in Mexico from our wonderful orchards
down there. They were juicy, good flavored & not wood-ie like- you
half of the time buy in the store here. Utah peaches are wonderful too!

These big rocks were a favorite spot for the cousins.

Making Memories...Amateur Fishing & Gleeful Rock Throwing Tots!!

Vining Family Camp-Out at Woods Canyon Lake-2009

It started to sprinkle, then pour & we all made
a mad dash for the vehicles & back to camp
where we huddled under canopies getting up
close & personal with lightning, thunder, &
pouring rain. Wow! That was something!!

We were enjoying ourselves down by the lake.
