'TWILIGHT'

"Twilight" - a guide for men
It would be easy for a man to mock the "Twilight" series by Mormon author Stephanie Meyer.
But the novel which chronicles the swooning & ogling of teenager Bella for her boyfriend Edward, should be required reading for all men.
True, a man might find himself screaming at Edward: "Bite her! Just bite her already!"
True, he might fling the book against the wall a few times in frustration -- especially when (spoiler alert!) the final great vampire showdown takes place while the first-person narrator is unconscious, which means there is no action description of what would have been the best part
of the book: vampires fighting vampires.
But if a man can read the book -- which, by the way, might make a great movie someday-- he
just might come away with an amazing insight into what women want.
And what do women want?
Edward is described as a "beautiful boy" with "perfect lips" and a voice like velvet." and, let's
mention it again, "flawless lips." Again and again he is described as beautiful and gorgeous. He
is strong dark and beautiful. He is immensely talented and beautiful. He is sensitive and beautiful. He is moody and beautiful. Women and girls love him even though his ever-so-beautiful lips are cold and probably stained with cougar blood.
In other words, Edward is the perfect man. And the good part is, every man is Edward.
But hold on a second." you may say. "I am not even hansome, let alone "beautiful with
perfect lips. I'm not sure I even want to know what perfect lips look like."
But now I am going to give you the secret for understanding "Twilight." And when you understand Bella and Edward, you will thereby understand all women.
"Twilight" came from a woman's real life, middle-of-the-night dream.
In other words, this novel grew out of a woman's subconscious mind. It is telling us things she does not really want to know.
This, by the way, is a good place to take a moment to encourage you to never tell another person your dreams. If you are the type of person who has no difficulty figuring out the symbolism in your dreams, you probably aren't going around blabbing about your nightmares.
If you can't figure out the symbolism in your dreams, then beware -- other people will figure out
every embarrassing, personally revealing detail for you.
And, true to form, this instance of Meyer's dream is also personally revealing.
We've looked at Edward. Let's look at Bella. She is good-looking enough. She is smart. She
is brave.
She has pluck.
She is clumsy. And, she smells good -- especially to Edward, who wants to drink all her blood,
except that he loves her and that would end the relationship.
In the topsy-turvy world of symbolism, Edward is every man and Bella is every woman.
Yes, gentlemen. We are Vampires.
In a woman's mind, we are Edward. OK, so we are not perfect in our looks, but remember this is subconscious symbolism.
Edward's perfection is symbolic of all the love and good things we represent to the women in
our lives.
We have the power to dazzle or destroy.
What is it about Edward that Bella and all of Meyer's fans love? He controls his vampirish impulses and deep desires because he loves Bella. Bella knows he has these desires and admires him more than she would if he did not have these desires.
Sure, he wants to drink her blood, but even more than that, he wants her to be happy and live.
What could be more beautiful?

Our Metro Lightrail Ride!!!

We've been wanting to take the new Lightrail ride in town for awhile now, but finally
decided to just do it!! I happened to mention the city had sent me a free ticket to ride
the Lightrail all day because I was to report for jury duty. (Hurray I was released &
didn't have to report), but it set Kelly's mind a thinkin'! Kelly had been nursing the
flu over the weekend & two days off work & towards
the end of his recovery & staying home we decided to take a ride &
pick up Shaun's & our lawnmowers that were in the shop on the way
back. ........... So we drove up to 19th Ave. & Bethany Home Road, parked &
caught the Rail. We rode it clear to Tempe & got off close to the Tempe
Bridge & walked down Mill Ave. to Chili's & had a nice lunch. We were
going to get back on & ride the Rail to the end of the line at Sycamore in Mesa to
see where it ends, but it was getting late so caught the Rail back to Phoenix.
It was pretty fun! Great not to have to drive, just enjoy the scenery & ride!! Quite
a few snowbirds & families checking out the ride. It was spring break so don't
know if there are usually more students riding it or not.

It was a fun afternoon, that is until Kelly turned left when there was a No
Left-turn sign & a jolly policemen was right there on his motorcyle & we knew
we were had ducks!! I was in the midst of telling him the sign said no-left hand
turn but you know it's one of those that says between certain hours!!!!
It was a really hot corner!!!! Just while we were there picking up
the lawnmowers & getting the ticket written up five more cars were stopped
& got tickets. The policemen said they've given 80 tickets there this week!
Whew!! I quess we just helped the city budget!!
Anyway the ride on the Lightrail was fun& lunch was great!!
I didn't have my camera with me so went back today & got some shots!
Can anyone quess what restuarant that is in the background??? I was trying
to take all these shots myself!!

P.S. Look in March for all updates. I didn't realize it takes pictures off of all my updated blogging since I got home.

Time To Go Home!

Time went by quickly & soon it was time to board the plane for home, Kelly was missing
me abit.
It was good to spend time with Brittney & family & celebrate little Madolin's arrival.
She's a real sweetie & will be a nice playmate for Macey. Meanwhile we'll look forward
to pictures of her blessing & you-all take care of each other. LOVE to you all! We
made some good memories!

Snow Day!

McCade came home from school friday saying it was going to snow on the week-end.
Brittney said no, no, maybe way up north, they seldom get snow more than once a
year. But Sunday morning last, we were all surprized when we saw snow flurries starting
outside & it continued to get more exciting by the minute. Then full scale snow coming down!
What fun to see it snow again! It was beautiful! We all sorta went snow crazy, & thoroughly
enjoyed it. Soon Chris called from church meetings to say they were cancelling church!
Brittney says if it snows here they cancel school also. The kids had a good time playing
in the snow & I had fun taking pictures of it. Even got a snow drop on my camera & you can see it in the picture of kids on the sofa, little Mason is blurred out! I miss seeing the four seasons
& the snow. Brings back fond memories of home in the Colonies & my B.Y.U. days & going
to Utah in the wintertime.

If my nose looks scrunched up it's because big drops of snow was falling on my head.
Kinda surprized me how wet it was! I soon looked like a drowned rat!!! Ha! Ha! Looked
like a winter-wonder-land outside!

Brittney's Home In Georgia

For the benefit of the syblings who haven't been to Brittney's home &

want to picture where she's at from day to day. I took a few pictures.

Chris & Brittney's 10th Anniversary!

On Saturday evening, Chris arranged dropping the older kids off at the Weeks counsins
home & Chris, Brittney, baby Madolin & I went out for dinner to celebrate Chris &
Brittney's Anniversary. The food was yummy and especially the melt in your mouth
cheesie mini muffins! Thank you Chris & congrates to you & Brittney on your
10th Anniversary!! Afterwards Tyler entertained us by showing us some of the top
group Hip-Hop Dancers! Wow can they dance!
One cute event of the evening was pretty special! I happened upon the three teenage Weeks cousins all surrounding something & being very entertained! On closer examination,
it was they were mesmerized by little baby Madolin lying in her carrier & she was hic-up-ing! Everytime she would hic-up they would giggle in facination! It was quite the scene! I wish
I could of caught that on camera.

Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

One morning we took a little outing to this Park.

Federal forces, which were part of Gen. James B. McPherson's Army of the Tennesee, led a

diversionary attack across a field against Confederate defenses at the base of the

mountains on June 27, 1864.

The 2,888 acre park commemorates the sacrifices of those who fought or died in the

grueling four-month 1864 Atlanta Campaign. There were over 3,000 casualties at the

Battle of Kennesaw Mountain.

In June, 1864 General William T. Sherman described the twin peaks of Kennesaw Mountain

as a scene too beautiful to be disturbed by the horrors of war.
